In addition to their measuring ranges, vibration sensors with different ranges may also differ in the following ways:

1.sensitivity: sensitivity refers to the degree of the sensor's response to vibration. Generally speaking, a vibration sensor with a smaller range has a higher sensitivity and can more accurately capture small vibration changes. Sensors with a larger range, on the other hand, will have lower sensitivity and are more suitable for measuring larger vibrations.

Normally, the output voltage of our vibration sensor is 5V, so the sensor sensitivity * range = output voltage 5V. e.g. our model: A26D100, the sensitivity is 100mV/g, then the range of this sensor is 50g.

2.Frequency Response: Vibration sensors vary in their ability to respond to different frequencies of vibration. A more sensitive sensor may be better suited to measure low frequency vibrations, while a less sensitive sensor may be better suited to measure high frequency vibrations. Therefore, depending on the frequency range of vibration being monitored, it may be necessary to select sensors with different ranges.

3.Construction and design: The construction and design of vibration sensors may vary depending on the range. Sensors with smaller ranges may require more robust construction and larger dimensions to withstand larger vibrations. Sensors with larger ranges may be more compact and lightweight for ease of installation and use.

4.application areas: different ranges of vibration sensors for different applications. For example, sensors with smaller ranges may be used in areas such as industrial machinery, building structures or seismic monitoring, while sensors with larger ranges may be used in areas such as precision instruments, medical equipment or laboratory research.

Usually IEPE type accelerometers fulfill this rule.

It should be noted that these differences are not absolute, as the performance of the sensor is also affected by other factors, such as manufacturing process, material selection, circuit design, etc.. Therefore, when choosing a vibration sensor, in addition to considering the range, you also need to consider other factors to meet the specific application requirements.
