Installation Notes

1. Mounting method      

When choosing the installation of the sensor should carefully consider the different mounting methods may have an impact on the amplitude and frequency of the sensor. Sensors can be mounted in a variety of ways: hand-held probes, glued, magnetic mounts, threaded mounts, etc. Different mounting methods produce different mounting stiffnesses, resulting in changes in the measurement frequency of the sensor. Different mounting methods produce different mounting stiffness, resulting in changes in the sensor's measurement frequency, the higher the stiffness, the wider the measurement frequency. Therefore, when mounting the sensor it is best to bolt the sensor directly to the object to be measured.

2. Installation surface      

The bottom surface of the sensor has a smoothness of <10μm, and it is also hoped that the user will polish the surface of the object to be measured to improve the smoothness and flatness, so that the roughness of the mounting surface of the object to be measured is less than 10μm. Clean the bottom surface of the sensor and the mounting surface to ensure that the surface is free of foreign matter.

3. Bolt connection method      

Bolt connection is the most reliable installation method, first of all, in the clean and flat mounting surface to drill a mounting threaded hole (hole depth should be longer than the bolt). Secondly, in order to ensure effective contact between the upper and lower end surfaces, it is best to apply a layer of grease on the bonding surface to increase the contact stiffness, which ensures that the entire bottom surface of the sensor can be well rigid contact with the object to be measured. Finally, use a torque wrench to install the sensor on the mounting surface, the mounting screw holes must be perpendicular to the surface, and the mounting torque is 2.5 to 5Nm.

4. Magnetic holder installation method      

When installing the magnetic mount, special attention should be paid to the magnetic mount due to its strong suction force. Avoid direct vertical adsorption on the mounting surface during installation, as vertical adsorption will generate large transient shocks, which may affect the testing accuracy of the sensor. The correct method is to install it at an inclined angle.
